ASME-IPTI Offers Pipeline Training Week

 

ASME-IPTI Pipeline Training Week will be held March 12-14, 2012, at Tulsa Community College in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Taught by industry recognized experts in the field of pipeline engineering, the courses offered during the ASME-IPTI Pipeline Training Week are unique in their applied learning approach. Held in Tulsa, OK, participants will be immersed in lectures, exercises and exams designed to build practical knowledge. Upon completion of exams, students will be awarded a Certificate of Completion, earning 6.5 PDH's per day of classes taken, issued by the Pipeline Systems Division of ASME.

This Course will provide the attendee with a comprehensive overview of the many and varied activities that are involved in designing and constructing onshore pipeline infrastructure to transport hydrocarbons in a cost effective manner. The material is presented in a logical sequence of five blocks covering Facilities planning, hydraulic design, mechanical / geotechnical design, materials selection and construction. Practical examples are used throughout and the lectures are supplemented by video presentations.

Course Objectives:
The objective throughout is to provide a sound understanding of the underlying engineering principles in each area and, illustrate how they are linked to produce a total life cycle approach to system design and operation. Attendees will receive a comprehensive set of notes and a copy of the overhead presentations.
